For a manufacturer of drive systems it is common practice to build prototypes and test vehicles before launching an entirely new drive program. But it is quite unusual if such a manufacturer can point to the successful use of more than 3.5 million drives of this kind during the premier of this range.

A million times approved, but still new in the market. Linde Hydraulics for the first time offers the electric drive systems, which are successfully used in the brands Linde, STILL and OM, also to the manufacturers of mobile machines. The picture shows a 22 kW AC motor with integrated speed and temperature sensor.
For the electric drive systems, which Linde Hydraulics now introduces for the first time, this vast number can be explained with the development and production for internal use: 3.5 million forklift trucks of the brands Linde, STILL and OM work with DC and AC electric drives. Now the overall competence in development and manufacture in this field of business is also available for other manufacturers of mobile working equipment. This new range of products will be introduced for the first time during bauma 2010.
Linde Hydraulics is able to draw the attention to quite an impressive range of electrical drives. AC and DC motors with power ratings ranging from 0.5 to 30 kW for voltages from 24 to 80 V are available. Even complete drive axles, propel and pump drives as well as servo drives, power modules and electronic control units are part of this product range, which can be used to design complete drive systems.
All components have been "tried and tested" in the highly sophisticated field of application of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment, which is characterized by frequent starting and stopping, reversing and multi-shift operation.
This new range of products from Linde Hydraulics with the designation "eMotion" addresses, among others, manufacturers intending to replace existing combustion engine based drives with electric drives. Here Linde Hydraulics is able to offer comprehensive experience - giving the customer the benefit of profiting from the extensive know-how in designing and control related linking of electric drives and hydraulics.

A servo drive with a 500 W electric motor, gearbox, speed sensor and angle encoder as well as electronic control and power module represents highest integration in the smallest space.
Manufacturers of mobile working equipment, such as scissor lifts, in which electric and hydraulic travel and work functions must be coordinated, are another target group for "eMotion". In many cases there is a considerable potential for optimization, which can be developed by Linde Hydraulics in cooperation with the customers.
Linde Hydraulics considers "eMotion" an interesting field of growth and the electro-motive auxiliary drives and travel drives a sensible supplementation to the accustomed core business of high pressure hydraulics. An essential reason for offering the competence in electric drive technology now also to external customers is the objective to develop further power and efficiency potentials in the field of mobile drives. Here the company not only is able to fall back on a wide product portfolio and comprehensive engineering competence, but also on the application related practical know-how of a vehicle manufacturer and a highly acclaimed supplier for mobile working machines.
